Easter Glory

Sequence

Christians, to the Paschal Victim
Offer your thankful praises!
A Lamb the sheep redeems;
Christ, who only is sinless,
Reconciles sinners to the Father.
Death and life have contended in that combat stupendous:
The Prince of life, who died, reigns immortal.
Speak, Mary, declaring
What you saw, wayfaring.
“The tomb of Christ, who is living,
The glory of Jesus’ resurrection;
bright angels attesting,
The shroud and napkin resting.
Yes, Christ my hope is arisen;
to Galilee he goes before you.”
Christ indeed from death is risen, our new life obtaining.
Have mercy, victor King, ever reigning!
Amen. Alleluia.

This is the "Feast of Feasts," the "Solemnity of Solemnities," the highest Feast of the Church, the holiest day of the year.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” (Mat 28,5-7)

“He has risen from the dead…”

“Wishing you all a blessed and holy Easter. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!”

Good Friday 2022

Seen here the moon stared at the Crucifix in Carmel on that mournful evening.

‘…like the moon,
the faithful witness in the sky.’
(Ps 89, 37)

Holy Saturday 2022

Just after the sunset, the bright moon “appeared” on top of the Crucifix!

Easter Sunday 2022

The stillness of Easter dawn as the sun quietly waken the “sleepers”.

At the end of our Easter Triduum, we received here “Easter graces” written on the tiny fish-like cards! Each nun will take it in turn while singing the Easter hymn.

Easter Morning

The first Easter sun shines on Our Lady to greet her this morning!

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. (Gen. 1, 3)

New birds!

Even these birds are so anxious to greet the Easter morning sun, standing on top of our Chapel! They are our new visitors, indeed!!

Alleluia, Christ has risen from the dead, Alleluia!!

The Cross in my Pocket

I carry a cross in my pocket
A simple reminder to me
Of the fact that I am a Christian
No matter where I may be.
This little cross is not magic
Nor is it a good luck charm.
It isn't meant to protect me.
From every physical harm.
It's not for identification
For all the world to see.
It's simply an understanding
Between my Saviour and me.
When I put my hand in my pocket
To bring out a coin or key.
The cross is there to remind me
Of the price he paid for me.
It reminds me, too, to be thankful
For my blessings day by day
And strive to serve him better
In all that I do and say.
It's also a daily reminder
Of the peace and comfort I share
With all who know my master
And give themselves to his care.
So, I carry a cross in my pocket
Reminding no one but me
That Jesus Christ is Lord of my life
If only I'll let him be.
Amen
